Felix Castellano
Dr. Felix Castellano comes to us from North Carolina State University. The Castellano group focuses on metal-organic chromophore photophysics and energy transfer, excited state engineering, photochemical upconversion phenomena, solar fuels photocatalysis, and many others subjects.

Kenneth Hanson
Dr. Kenneth Hanson will be attending from Florida State University. The Hanson research group focuses on the design, synthesis and characterization of light absorbing and emitting molecules and interfacial phenomena.

Seth Marder
Dr. Seth Marder is the founding director of the Center for Organic Photonics and Electronics at Georgia Tech. His research focuses on the development of new organic materials for non-linear optics and photovoltaic applications.

Dr. Amanda Morris hails from Virgina Tech. Her work lies at the intersection of physical and inorganic/molecular chemistry with a focus of the areas of light-matter interactions and catalysis.

Jack Saltiel 
Dr. Jack Saltiel is a former colleague of Prof. Michael Kasha, and comes to us from Florida State University. His mechanistic studies have earned him worldwide recognition as the foremost authority on cis-trans photoisomerization.

Dr. Kirk Schanze will be coming to us from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Research in the Schanze Lab is focused on the interaction of light with small molecules, polymers, and materials.

Ming Lee Tang
Dr. Ming Lee Tang will join us from University of California, Riverside. Her group focuses on the design, synthesis, and characterization of novel hybrid organic-inorganic materials.

Mark Thompson
Dr. Mark Thompson comes from the University of Southern California. Research in the Thompson group focuses on phosphorescent light emitting diodes and he is one of the founding figures of OLED displays.

Claudia Turro
Dr. Claudia Turro will be coming to us from Ohio State University. The Turro group is interested in understanding and utilizing transition metal complexes in photochemical reactions. The potential applications of these photochemical reactions span from photodynamic therapy and photoactivated chemical therapies.

Dr. Brant Watson is a former post doctoral student from the Kasha group. He is currently a faculty member in the department of neurology at the Miller School of Medicine in University of Miami. His research focuses on using photobiology to study strokes and spinal cord injuries.

Dr. Emily Weiss will be attending from Northwestern University. The Weiss group aims to study the interaction of light with nanostructures for applications in catalysis, electronics, and biological sensing.

Dr. Martin Zanni comes from the University of Wisconsin. The Zanni group develops and utilizes ultrafast multidimensional spectroscopies to study topics in biophysics and materials science.
